After an adventurous day in the mountains, your bright, south-facing hotel room invites you to relax and recover. Our comfortably furnished rooms offer ideal space for two people, but thanks to the additional pull-out beds, they are perfect also for three guests. Every room features a private bathroom with shower and a south-facing balcony - perfect to enjoy the warm sun rays and let your gaze wander to enjoy the idyllic landscape of the Ultental Valley. Some of our rooms are located at the ground floor and offer direct access to the garden and sun-bathing lawn - a little extra for all those who want to experience nature up close.

Your morning in the Ultental Valley starts with a rich breakfast from our buffet, which offers something for every taste - whether you like it sweet or salty, savory or light. Enjoy fresh bread with jam, crunchy cereals with yogurt or milk, fresh fruits, regional cold cuts and cheeses, as well as freshly baked cake. We also serve aromatic coffee, hot tea, or fresh fruit juices. Enjoy a relaxing start to the day, in the light-flooded dining room or, weather permitting, on the sunny terrace.


In the evening, as part of half board, we pamper you with lovingly prepared dishes from the traditional, South Tyrolean cuisine, or Italian and international specialties. A fine glass of local wine or a schnapps directly from the Ultental Valley round off the perfect culinary experience. Of course, we are happy to accommodate your individual dietary needs – just let us know in advance.



During your stay, you can decide flexibly whether you prefer breakfast only or half board. Our bar is open for you all day long. Enjoy an aromatic coffee, a refreshing aperitif, an ice cream, or a delicious cocktail and spend relaxing moments in our lounge or on the terrace.

In the warm months, our spacious sun-bathing lawn directly in front of the house invites you to unwind, surrounded by fragrant meadows, a view of the surrounding mountains, and the sun in your face.

For all those enjoying beneficial warmth, our sauna area is the perfect place to relax. Choose between the classical Finnish sauna and the gentle steam bath – both ideal to relax your muscles and end the day pleasantly.

Hiking adventure directly from the hotel

The peaceful position of our hotel offers the perfect starting point for hikes in all directions. Many tours start directly at the front door - from easy walks in the valley to demanding hikes in the mountains with stunning panoramic views. The trails are well-marked and lead through varied, intact nature.

Farm Path & ancient larch trees - hiking through history

A special highlight is the Farm Path of the Ultental Valley, which leads past ancient, lovingly maintained farmhouses and gives deep insights into the life of the past. Or visit the famous ancient larch trees in St. Gertraud - with more than 2,000 years, they are among the oldest conifers in Europe. Also, a hike on the sunny pastures around Proveis is definitely worth it – here, you can enjoy peace, stunning views, and traditional huts to stop and enjoy a meal.

Skiing & snowboarding in Kuppelwies

Just about a 15-minute drive away, you'll find the manageable, family-friendly Schwemmalm ski area near Kuppelwies. Here, perfectly prepared slopes for beginners and experts, modern ski lifts, and authentic huts await you. Snowboarders will also have fun, and all of this without long waits and crowds.

Tobogganing & winter fun for the whole family

A pleasure at all ages: the toboggan run in Kuppelwies provides fun and action on two runners. Toboggans can be rented on-site – ideal for a winter excursion with a lot of fresh air and laughter in the snow. Those who prefer a longer toboggan ride, can enjoy one in the skiing area Schwemmalm!

Ice-skating in the open air

In the immediate surroundings, you also have the possibility to make some laps on the small ice-skating rink. With children or as a couple, outdoor ice-skating is a unique experience in a beautiful winter atmosphere.

Winter hikes & silent moments

For those who prefer peaceful moments, around St. Pankraz, there are many possibilities for winter and snowshoe hikes through snowy forests and over sunny slopes. The clear air, the peace of nature, and crunching snow under your feet turn these excursions into a unique experience.

Well-connected without a car

Thanks to the regular bus service every 30 minutes, you can enjoy your holidays without a car. To Lana for some shopping or to Weißbrunn for a winter hike – the Ultental Valley is well connected also for your winter activities.

Information around your stay at St. Pankraz

Good to know
At Hotel St. Pankraz, animals are welcome. However, we kindly ask you to inform us in advance, because not all rooms can be used for animals. Furthermore, we ask for your understanding that your four-legged friend is not allowed in the dining room. Per animal and night, we charge up to €18.
All our rooms are double rooms, but thanks to the pull-out couch, they can easily be turned into triple rooms. Furthermore, we have one big family room for up to five people with a big, private terrace.
For the time of your stay, you can leave your bike in our garage. Furthermore, we lend e-mountain bikes from €45 per day.
Our house has no private playground, but directly next to the hotel, there is a beautiful public playground.
On the day of arrival, your room will be available from 2 p.m. On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to leave your room by 10 a.m.
Late Check-Out: On request and for an additional charge of €10 per person, you are welcome to use the wellness area for the entire day on your departure day!
When booking, we kindly ask you to pay a deposit of 30% of the total price.
There is no right of withdrawal in the sense of consumer protection - however, we grant you the following cancellation conditions:
  • For cancellations up to 31 days before arrival, no additional cancellation fees apply.
  • For cancellations within 30 to 1 days before arrival, a fee of 50% of the total booked amount will be charged.
  • For cancellations on the day of arrival, a fee of 100% of the total booked amount will be charged.
  • For early departure, late arrival, or no-show, cancellation fees of 100% will be charged for the booked but not used days.
For the time of your stay, you will get the Südtirol Guest Pass with many benefits. Furthermore, you can always use our wellness and swimming area and the sunbathing lawn.
You can book your room with breakfast or half board and let us pamper you. Alternatively, you can book the overnight stay only.

How to find us

Welcome to St. Pankraz
Whether you’re coming from the north or the south, take the A22 motorway and exit at Bolzano Sud. From there, take the MeBo expressway towards Merano. Exit at Merano Sud and follow the signs to Val d’Ultimo (Ultental). After approximately 10 kilometers on the Ultental road, you’ll reach the village of San Pancrazio (St. Pankraz) and the Hotel St. Pankraz.
If you’re arriving via the Resia Pass (Reschenpass), drive through Val Venosta (Vinschgau) until you reach Merano. From there, take the MeBo expressway towards Bolzano and exit at Merano Sud. Follow the signs to Val d’Ultimo, and after around 10 kilometers, you’ll reach the village of San Pancrazio and the Hotel St. Pankraz.
